As soon as we stepped inside the lobby, a feeling of grandiosity embraces me, maybe because this is a 5 star hotel and a highly rated one, but more than that, the reason might be their lobby and the warm welcome of the concierge at the front desk. After a quick and hassle-free check-in, we were guided to the north wing of the hotel.
III. THE ROOM
Luckily, we were upgraded to a signature executive room and the first thing I notice was the Lavazza Espresso Maker, for a coffee lover like me: this is heaven. Although the room was quite dated at the time of the visit it was clearly an executive room in terms of roominess and amenities. The mini bar was full stock with wine, liquors, chocolates and sodas. The complimentary bottles were kind of posh too, and branded accordingly. As for the bathroom, I was kinda hoping for a big luxury tub and rainforest shower, but to my dismay the bathroom fixtures are just the standard, though I must admit that the complimentary signature Miller Harris toiletries were too awesome to ignore. This citrus based toiletries smelled heavenly and really compensates for the dismay I felt earlier.
I love the room upgrade, it makes me want to stay for a few more nights. This is a 5 star hotel so as expected the staff were attentive to all our needs. I requested an early wake up call as we need to catch our 7am flight to Bangkok. We were knocked down that time as we party, had a little drink and needed some serious shut eye and the staff never failed to give us several calls. The room service was also on point in serving the in-room breakfast we requested the night before and we enjoyed the generous servings as well.
As with check-in, check out procedure was fast and hassle free. A Filipino staff assisted us with our luggage and even help us in getting a cab to the airport.
