Checking-in was a breeze, and everything goes smoothly even though we check-in past 2 in the morning. There is some staff waiting for us, and considering the time, I’m a bit apprehensive at first, but I’m relieved to see two smiling receptionist at the counter.
I must agree with their brochure, we did experience a whole new level of innovative accommodation, we always settle for a mid-budget 3-star to 4-star hotels, but as per rave online we did give it a try. It was an urban camp, you get to mingle with other people, and yet you still have your quirky personal space. Though I should say that this is not for everyone, especially for those whose claustrophobic, you might find the capsule stressful, but for those who want something unconventional and you don’t care staying in a capsule then this is a good choice.
It’s going to be fun here in Taiwan 😊I’m totally in love with my capsule room 😍 I have flat tv, mirror with ring light and so much more 👍🏻Review coming soon at www.runawaymaria.com #RunawayMariaGoesToTaiwan #CapsuleHotel #TravelBlog #Travelstoke #TravelBlogger #Jj #Jjforum #vsco #igers #igersmanila #travelphotography #travel #uniquestay #travelerslife #travelogue #taiwan #heybear #taipei
Staying in a capsule hotel surprises us and it even exceeds our expectation. You can choose from the female dormitory, male dormitory and for family and couples like us, there’s a mixed dorm. The capsule features custom air-condition and ventilation, it also has audio visual electronics like flat tv, sterilized earphones or headphones (1 per capsule) to give other privacy and avoid unnecessary noise when watching. You can quickly charge your phone using either the USB charger port or the electric output. Plus the capsule offers different lighting as per needs, the gorgeous ring light for bright and cheery mood which is also perfect for a selfie, reading lights for bookworms and the blue spaceship kind of lighting which I find so amusing. Aside from this, each capsule has a small safe for valuables, and the capsule comes with matching electronic key card which you can use as an access for electricity just like how you powered hotel rooms. You also need this card in locking and unlocking the main door, the capsule door and in access to the other facilities like locker, elevators and comfort rooms.
Aside from the incredible capsule, they also have a lobby where you can eat your takeaways and drink local coffee for a fee. They also have desktop computers, ufo catcher, game boards and playing area for children and the young at hearts. Hair Dryer, shampoo and body wash are available in shower rooms although there’s one pet peeve that I always think about is that unfortunately, a bidet is not available. Also, you must bring your slippers, towels, and toothbrush since they don’t provide these necessary at all for free though you can pay for a small fee for these at the check-in counter. There’s also an excellent area for women who loves makeup since they have well-lighted mirrors at the female dormitory. Since we stayed for three nights, I asked them if they can fix my capsule and they did clean it up without a fuss.
Checking out just like check-in was fast and easy.
Another selling point of this charming hotel is its location; its twenty meters away more or less from Taipei Bridge Station so accessing the whole city is effortless. Just cross the traffic lights, and you’re already at MRT. Convenient stores, fast food and Sanhe night market is within reach. If you’re coming straight from Taoyuan Airport, you might want to check this post on how to get to Taipei from the airport.
